الّي أو: اللي
In English, relative pronouns such as (that, which, who, whom, where and when ) are used to link a noun to a phrase, to make it clear which person or thing we are talking about
:For example
.The restaurant that is behind the bank
.The woman who works at the bank
The Gulf Dialect, has only one relative pronoun
الّي
we use this pronoun regardless the gender and the number of the noun. Standard Arabic, on the other, hand has around 10 relative

المطعم الّي ورا البنك
The woman who works at the bank.
الحرمة الّي تشتغل في البنك
Please note:
الّي
.is ONLY used after a definite word
If the noun is indefinite, you would not use
الّي
.For example: I saw a man who speaks 10 languages
شفت ريّال (رجّال) يتكلم عشر لغات
:If you want to say
Last week
we say something like: The week that passed
الأسبوع الّي طاف أو:فات
Last year (The year that passed)
السنة الّي طافت أو:فات
Last time (The time that passed)
المرة الّي طافت أو:فات
الحين دوركم، كيف تقولون؟
.I saw the cat that ate the mouse
.This is the movie that everyone is talking about
.All (what) I am saying is
.This is what happened
